In this post, I am going to show you how to install WordPress on GoDaddy.
If you are wanting to get a blog up and running and are trying to decide whether to use a free platform like blogger.com or to take that extra step and purchase a domain and hosting so that you can actually own your blog, I highly recommend going the ‘do-it-yourself’ route for a couple of reasons.
First of all, although you may think it’s complicated to install WordPress on GoDaddy or another server, it’s actually really simple. Plus, both GoDaddy and HostGator have excellent customer support and when you do run into issues, they are very helpful.
Also, when you use a free platform, you don’t have any control of your site and you don’t own it. It can be taken down at any time, and they can put advertisements on it. The free platforms are good for some things but are not the best choice if you are starting a business. It’s always best to be professional.
Anyway, one you have a domain name (GoDaddy has the cheapest domain names) that reflects your niche, and have purchased a good hosting package (HostGator has excellent, affordable hosting), all you need to do is install wordpress.
In this video, I will walk you through how to instal WordPress on GoDaddy. If you choose to use HostGator, it is just as simple.
